Creator of "Tales from the Darkside."
George A. Romero is one of the most iconic directors in the history of horror cinema. He is likely most known as the director of a series of films that views the world after a zombie apocalypse. This series began in 1968 with the classic "Night of the Living Dead."
Romero is also well known as a regular collaborator with makeup and special effects artist Tom Savini and horror novelist Stephen King. It was through working with King on the 1982 horror anthology "Creepshow" that Romero conceived the idea of making a television horror anthology. He thus created "Tales from the Darkside."
